General FAQs

How does FlashGet Kids parental control work?

FlashGet Kids connects your phone with your child’s device through two linked apps, so you can stay involved even when you’re apart. Once set up, you can create screen time schedules, set app limits and website restrictions, and receive supported safety alerts—helping you guide your child’s digital habits with greater confidence. You can also check their location, review device activity, and see usage reports in one place on your own phone. Available features depend on whether your child uses Android or iOS and enabled permissions.

Who is FlashGet Kids parental control for?

FlashGet Kids is for parents and guardians who want to help children build healthy digital habits. Whether it’s a first phone or a growing need for independence, you don’t have to figure out every rule at once. You can choose what fits your family and adjust as your child grows.

What can FlashGet Kids monitor on my child’s phone?

FlashGet Kids can show supported information such as your child’s device location, screen activity, app usage, alerts, and usage reports. On supported Android devices, it can also help parents check certain device surroundings, app notifications, and selected content risks when permissions are properly enabled. Monitoring features vary by platform and setup, and should be used by parents or guardians with appropriate authority.

Can I use FlashGet Kids when I am not near my child?

Yes. Being apart doesn’t mean you have to lose touch with your child’s device activity. Once setup is complete and both phones are online, you can use supported features from your own phone.

Can I use FlashGet Kids for free?

Yes. You can explore free features and supported paid features during a 3-day free trial. After the trial period, the free features remain available, so you can try them out to see which ones suit your family before deciding whether to subscribe. Free features vary across different platforms.

Does FlashGet Kids work on both Android and iPhone?

Yes. You and your child don’t need matching phones. FlashGet Kids supports Android and iPhone/iPad, so your family can use different systems and still stay connected. Available features depend on the child’s device and supported system version.

Do I need my child’s phone to set up FlashGet Kids?

Yes, you’ll need your child’s phone for the initial setup. After that, everyday management of supported features happens on your own phone, so you won’t need to borrow theirs for each check. Some advanced iPhone/iPad features also need a computer during setup. See the setup guide when you are ready.

Is FlashGet Kids safe to use?

Your family’s safety and privacy matter to us. FlashGet Kids is designed to help you guide your child’s device use with greater confidence. Our Privacy Policy describes the technical and organizational measures we use to protect personal information, because choosing a service for your child deserves clear answers.

Do I need to root or jailbreak my child’s phone to use FlashGet Kids?

No, there’s no need to root or jailbreak your child’s phone. FlashGet Kids works through normal installation and permissions, so you can get started without those complicated modifications and focus on supporting your child.

Do I need to install FlashGet Kids on both my phone and my child’s phone?

Yes, both phones need their respective apps. They work together so you can view information and manage supported rules from your own phone after setup. That makes everyday supervision more convenient without needing to borrow your child’s phone each time. Our setup guide is there if you need it.

Does FlashGet Kids work for co-parents or dual-household families?

FlashGet Kids can help you stay involved even when you live apart from your child. Each child device connects to one account, and the service doesn’t currently support simultaneous parent logins.

What can parents do with FlashGet Kids?

Parents can set screen time schedules, create app rules, block inappropriate websites or apps, set location-based alerts, and manage safety settings from the FlashGet Kids parent app. Available controls vary by the child’s device, operating system, and permissions.

Can FlashGet Kids detect threats, violence, or other risky content?

FlashGet Kids can help you notice potential concerns. Android keyword alerts, image checks, and website restrictions offer extra support when you’re worried about what your child may encounter. They can’t detect every threat, but can give you a reason to check in and offer help.

Can I create different screen time schedules for school time, bedtime, and free time?

Yes. You can set daily screen time allowances and different schedules for school, bedtime, and free time. That gives your child clear routines while leaving room for learning, rest, and the activities they enjoy.

Can FlashGet Kids notify me when my child arrives at or leaves a place?

Yes. Geofence alerts can let you know when your child’s device enters or leaves a place you’ve chosen, such as home or school. They help you follow everyday routines without constantly checking the map.

How do I start using FlashGet Kids parental control?

Connect the parent and child devices and complete the required setup. After that, you can manage supported features from your own phone. Some advanced iPhone/iPad features need a computer during setup, and our team can guide you if anything feels unfamiliar. Our Getting Started guide explains the setup.

Does FlashGet Kids need to keep running in the background?

On Android, yes, the child app needs to run in the background with the required permissions. It doesn’t have to stay open on the screen, so updates can continue while your child uses their phone normally. iPhone requirements vary by feature.

Can I use the same FlashGet Kids parent account on different devices?

Yes. You can keep your FlashGet account when switching parent phones, so there’s no need to create a new account. Only one parent phone can be signed in at a time, and signing in elsewhere signs out the previous phone. Locally saved recordings won’t transfer automatically.

How much does FlashGet Kids cost?

You can choose a monthly, quarterly, or yearly subscription, with free features available to get started. Our pricing page shows current prices and device allowances, so you can compare the options before deciding what fits your family and budget.

How do I buy a FlashGet Kids subscription?

You can subscribe through Google Play or the App Store in the parent app, or through our official pricing page. Prices and renewal details are shown before purchase, so you can understand the cost before choosing a plan for your family.

Is it legal to use FlashGet Kids to monitor my child’s phone?

FlashGet Kids is intended for parents and guardians supporting their children’s safety. Use it with the appropriate authority and any consent required where you live. Our user agreement explains the conditions of use; respecting your child’s privacy helps make that support responsible and thoughtful.

Will my child know FlashGet Kids is installed on their phone?

Your child may notice the app, system prompts, permissions, or device indicators depending on the device and feature. FlashGet Kids is intended for parents and guardians with appropriate authority, and we recommend using it with clear family expectations.

Can I use FlashGet Kids if I have an iPhone and my child has an Android phone?

Yes, you don’t need to switch phones. Your iPhone can manage your child’s Android device with FlashGet Kids. Features follow the child’s Android device and your plan, giving your family flexibility to use the phones that suit you.

Can I use FlashGet Kids if I have an Android phone and my child has an iPhone?

Yes, there’s no need for matching phones. Your Android phone can connect to your child’s iPhone and use its supported features. iPhone screen sharing needs your child’s approval.

Can I hear my child’s surroundings through FlashGet Kids?

On supported Android devices, One-way Audio can help parents listen to ambient sound around the child’s phone when the required permissions are enabled. On iPhone, ambient sound is available only during an approved screen-sharing session. This feature is intended to help parents understand their child’s safety context, and it does not record phone calls.

Can I block apps with FlashGet Kids?

Yes. You can restrict selected apps while keeping others available, so rules can focus on the distractions you’re concerned about. That gives your child room to use helpful apps while you guide what fits their age and routine. Available controls depend on the device, setup, and plan.

Can I limit my child’s screen time with FlashGet Kids?

Yes. Daily allowances, scheduled breaks, and individual app limits help you give screen time a clear place in your child’s day. You can leave room for learning, sleep, and time together, and adjust the rules as needs change.

Does FlashGet Kids need an internet connection to work?

Yes. Both phones need internet access for monitoring and data updates, and your child’s phone needs to stay powered on. Wi-Fi or mobile data can be used, so you don’t need to be on the same network. Live features need a stable connection, and fresh data isn’t available while the child’s device is offline.

Can my child turn off FlashGet Kids permissions?

Yes, permissions can be turned off or affected by system settings. FlashGet Kids lets you check their status, so a stopped feature doesn’t leave you guessing where to start. Restoring permissions still requires your child’s phone.

Can one parent account manage more than one child device?

Yes. One account can manage several child devices within your plan, so you don’t need a separate account for each child. Free, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly plans support up to 1, 2, 5, and 10 child devices respectively, letting you choose what fits your family.

Can two parents monitor the same child device?

Not through separate or simultaneous parent access at present. Each child device connects to one account, with one parent phone signed in at a time. We understand both parents may want to stay involved; our support team can help clarify what your family can use.

How do I contact FlashGet Kids support?

We’re here to help. Email help@flashget.com with your setup, feature, or account question, and our support team can help you work through it. You don’t need to know the technical terms to explain what’s happening. Support is by email; phone and voice-call support aren’t available.
